What's On features events that occur within 7.5km of the city centre or at major event destinations such as Sydney Olympic Park.

Originally, we only listed events in the City of Sydney's area. We expanded the boundaries in response to ongoing customer feedback about including listings across a greater area.

Our criteria aim to find a balance between customer expectation and what we can resource as a free service. Unfortunately, this means that some suburbs are not included.

Suburbs and localities

The Geographical Names Board of NSW determines suburbs and their boundaries.

Only suburbs – not localities – are used for addresses on What’s On:

• Can't find Kings Cross? Try Potts Point and Elizabeth Bay.
• Green Square includes Beaconsfield and Zetland, and parts of Rosebery, Alexandria and Waterloo.
• Looking for Walsh Bay? The suburb is Dawes Point.
